How is the pitch going to play in the first test between SRI Lanka and Bangladesh

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are about to kick off their new World Test Championship cycle with the first Test of a two-match series starting June 17. After South Africa’s win over Australia in the WTC final, it’s time for the teams to go after the Test mace again. The first match will take place at Galle International Stadium, and it marks the last Test for Angelo Mathews, who announced his retirement before the series.

Sri Lanka’s captain, Dhananjaya de Silva, is looking for a solid start. He mentioned that they had a good shot at reaching the final in the last cycle but couldn’t make it happen. We had a big chance to get to the final, but unfortunately we couldn’t do it, de Silva said, reminding his team of the lost opportunity before this first Test. He knows they need to win their home series and pick up those valuable points. It’s a great chance to kick off this new cycle right at home.

The pitch in Galle usually favors spinners, as was seen in the recent Sri Lanka vs Australia Test. It’s likely to help slow bowlers again this time too.
