Actually, the name of this only village in the world is cup which is located in Cyprus. Even in Cyprus, it is under Britain. People here have not even received citizenship of Cyprus. In such a situation, the lifestyle here is quite different.

British law applied

This unique village falls in the UK’s Sovereign Base Area, where British law is applicable. Even after the independence of Cyprus in 1960, it remained in the UK. There are constraints of soldiers in this village. Apart from this, there are farm-barn here. Some part of the village is in the Sovereign Base area, some in Cyprus and some in the northern Cyprus i.e. Turkish -occupied part. Therefore, British law is applicable here.

There is trouble

People cannot roam freely in this village. To go to the fields or meet a relative, one has to undergo immigration and custom checks. It is also difficult to bring goods from northern Cyprus. Local villagers say that their daily problems have not been solved even the development of there, due to which they are placing plans for their identity and rights.
