SBI Downtime Alert: If you are a customer of the State Bank of India (SBI) and is planning any necessary online transaction on 8 June 2025, then this news is very important for you. The country’s largest government bank SBI has informed on the social media platform X that many online services of the bank will be temporarily closed for the scheduled time.

Which services will be closed?
SBI has reported that on Sunday 8 June 2025 from 3:45 am to 4:30 pm, some online services such as UPI, IMPS, Yono, Internet Banking (RINB), NEFT and RTGS will not work. This blockage will be due to some essential system improvement and maintenance. The bank has said that all these services will start again after 4:30 am.

These problems can occur during downtime

Nowadays most people are dependent on UPI, so this service can create many problems for a few hours. For instance :

Transactions may be pending or failed. Erers like ‘Transaction Failed’ can come.

Despite the money being deducted, if the transaction fails, the refund may take longer.

At this time you will not be able to receive money from anywhere, which may cause problems for small traders or freelancers.

Advice to customers

The bank has advised customers to use UPI LITE and ATM services during this period, which will continue to work. It has been made to ensure that customers do not have complete discomfort and transactions can also be possible with limited options.

HDFC Bank services will also remain stalled on this day

Interestingly, apart from SBI, HDFC Bank, the largest bank in private sector, has also announced to close its UPI services for 4 hours on this day, ie on 8 June 2025. HDFC Bank has also sent an alert to its customers citing maintenance. Through email, HDFC Bank has said that UPI services will not be available due to 4 hours of system maintenance from 2:30 am to 6:30 am on 8 June 2025. During this time customers can use Payzapp wallet.
