Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to present her 8th budget on 1 February 2025. Many big announcements can be made in it. According to reports, important announcements are expected regarding the prices of domestic LPG gas cylinders in the Union Budget 2025. The Oil Ministry has sought an allocation of Rs 40,000 crore from the government for LPG subsidy.

LPG cylinder may become cheaper- If the government accepts this demand, then the losses incurred by oil companies like Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) will be compensated. This is likely to provide relief to domestic consumers in the prices of LPG cylinders. At present, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders are more than Rs 800. If the subsidy is increased in the budget, then the general public can get relief from inflation. However, the final decision will be clear only when the budget is presented. The general public hopes that concrete steps will be taken to reduce the prices of LPG cylinders in Budget 2025. The prices of 14.2 kg domestic LPG gas cylinders in different cities of India in January 2025 are as follows-
