The Test series between India and England is starting from June 20. In this series, veteran batsmen like Virat Kohli are absent, because he has retired from Test cricket before the tour. But even though Kohli will not be on the field, his presence in the city of Leeds is still alive today – in a special restaurant room, which is called ‘Virat Kohli Room’.
When Virat chose Tharavadu Restaurant
In 2018, Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma visited the Indian restaurant named Tharavadu in Leeds, which is famous for Kerala cuisine. Both of them liked the taste here so much that they presented an autograph plate to the restaurant. A heart touching message was also written on the plate, which is now decorated like a memorial in the restaurant.
Now “Virat Kohli Room” is open in ‘Uyare’
The owners of the Tharavadu restaurant have now opened a high-end rooftop dining restaurant ‘Uyare’ in Leeds. The restaurant initially had 17 tables, but recently an 18th table was added, which is a private dining space and is named – “Number 18, Virat Kohli Room”.
This room has now become a special attraction for fans. Even though Virat is no longer in the Test team, but is present in England. Kohli has been living in England since IPL 2025 and he recently called several players including Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant for dinner at his home.
The lack of great vast will miss, but memories are alive
Kohli will no longer be on the field, but his image and heritage in the streets of Leeds and ‘Virat Kohli Room’ are still alive. Fans hope that the Indian team should not let their deficiency be felt.
