
In a tragic incident, at least eight people died on the spot and six others were injured after a car and a pick-up truck collided in Maharashtra’s Pune on Wednesday.
The accident took place on Jejuri- Morgaon Road when a speeding sedan car and a pick-up truck collided near the Kirloskar Company premises, around 7:15 PM.
According to the local reports, the pick-up truck had halted near Shriram Hotel to unload the goods when the speeding car, travelling from Jejuri towards Indapur, rammed into the vehicle.
The impact was so severe that eight people — including the hotel owner, workers unloading the tempo, and occupants of the car — died on the spot.
Six others, including two children and a woman, were injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities are working to notify the families of the victims and determine the exact cause of the accident.
