IAF EVACUATION PLAN: Indian citizens are also trapped in the ongoing war between Iran and Israel. The Ministry of External Affairs has started its operation to evacuate Indians from Iran. In such evacuations, if the operation of civil aircraft is normal, then people are evacuated through them. If not, then the Indian Air Force is called. The Indian Air Force is also ready with its evacuation plan. According to sources, whenever such situations occur, the Air Force keeps monitoring it. And if the government asks for evacuation, then it is implemented immediately. To avoid wasting time, the Air Force prepares a foolproof plan for evacuation in advance. The Ministry of External Affairs has currently planned to evacuate all the stranded Indians from the Armenia border. First to Armenia by road and then to India by flight. About 1,500 of the approximately 10,000 Indians in Iran are students.

Many successful evacuation operations were carried out.
The specialty of the Indian Air Force is that it can safely evacuate its citizens from the conflict zone. Talking about some of the previous major evacuation operations, Operation Sukoon was conducted during the Israel-Lebanon war in 2006, in which 2,280 Indians were safely brought back to the country. In 2015, during the war in Yemen, Indians were brought to Djibouti from Sanaa Airport and then to India via C-17. In 2021, during the Taliban's occupation of Afghanistan, the government launched Operation Devi Shakti, in which 800 Indians were brought back to the country. In 2022, Operation Ganga was launched during the Ukraine war, in which around 18,000 Indians were rescued from Ukraine and neighboring countries. In the year 2023, during the conflict in Sudan, the government launched Operation Kaveri, in which the Indian Air Force brought 3,900 Indians back home safely. Apart from this, dozens of operations have been run by the government for relief and rescue. The Indian Air Force has played an important role in this.

Expert in operating in conflict zones
Apart from civil aircraft, the government also uses the Indian Air Force a lot. The reason behind this is that the pilots are experts in flying in war zones. If even a small window is found, then the flight is started in the meantime. Apart from the Indian Air Force, the Indian Navy also played a big role in the evacuation done in Yemen. Military aircraft could not go to Sanaa Airport, so this work had to be done even in the window of a few hours given for evacuation through Air India planes. Djibouti Airbase was made the operation base. Indian citizens were brought by civil aircraft planes and then they were brought to India through C-17 Globemaster. Although the larger IL-76 cargo plane is also available in addition to the C-17, the C-17 is newer and more maneuverable. Night landing is very easy with the help of night vision goggles.
