Arsenal are just five signings away from Mikel Arteta having his dream squad with the same number of exits also on the cards. The Gunners appear to be on the verge of winning a big trophy having finished second in the Premier League for the last three seasons and also reaching the Champions League semi-finals.

As was the case two years ago when Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber all arrived, some statement signings are needed to take the Gunners up to that next level.

Following on from that, two additions in attack are also wanted with Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko, Rodrygo and Nico Williams as the main four options.

. Even if he does not join the La Liga champions, Bayern Munich are also competing to sign him from Athletic Club.

As such, sanctioning a blockbuster move for Real Madrid's Rodrygo may have to be the play.

The Club World Cup will likely make things clearer as well as talks with Alonso which are expected soon. If he is free to depart, Los Blancos will likely demand £84million (€100m) to sell him and though it is a sizeable fee, that is what must be spent on marquee signings in the current market. With Premier League rivals Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool all on the hunt for a centre-forward, but all focused on a deal for Hugo Ekitike of Eintracht Frankfurt, Arsenal could have a free run at RB Leipzig's Sesko or Gyokeres of Sporting CP.

The latter is more of the finished article and as such it may be better to sign him from the Portuguese champions.

In addition to that, Arsenal will hope to bring in Jorrel Hato as their alternative to Dean Huijsen after he opted to join Real Madrid from Bournemouth. Chelsea are also interested in the Dutch teenager but the advantage is likely to be with the Gunners.

To compensate for such a huge outlay, exits will need to be sanctioned with Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus arguably as the two with the best resale value expected to depart north London. The latter is currently injured but could be back fit during the latter stages of pre-season.

Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson are two returning loan stars unlikely to have a future at the club with Albert Sambi Lokonga, despite a one-year contract extension being agreed, also expected to seal a permanent departure.

Some other squad changes are also likely He turns 16 in December and from then on could start featuring on senior matchday but would not need to be registered given he's under the age of 21.

Taking into account all of that, Arsenal seemingly have 21 first-team players with room to add to the 25-man squad available to Arteta after 10 transfers were completed.
