RC Strasbourg Alsace have exercised their option to make Andrew Omobamidele’s (22) move from Nottingham Forest permanent, according to a report from The team.
Omobamidele joined Strasbourg from Nottingham Forest in January on a loan deal with the option to make the move permanent at the end of the campaign. After a period of reflection, the decision was taken to exercise that option. It was the defender’s continued injury issues that made Alsatians mull over the decision for as long as they did.
However, the decision has been taken to sign the defender on a permanent basis. The team understands that the Irishman has signed a four-year deal, running until the summer of 2029. The value of the deal has not been revealed.
Omobamidele’s permanent move to the Meinau comes after RCSA were beaten in the race to sign CJ Egan-Riley. The England youth international ultimately opted to sign for Olympique de Marseille.
