Modi's Arrival in Cyprus
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Cyprus, where he was warmly welcomed at the airport by President Nikos Christodoulides. This visit marks the beginning of a three-nation tour, which includes participation in the G7 summit in Canada on June 16-17, followed by a trip to Croatia.
Significance of the Visit

Modi will be in Cyprus for two days, from June 15 to 16, making it the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country in two decades, marking a pivotal moment in the bilateral relations between India and Cyprus.
Bilateral Discussions
During his stay, Modi is set to meet with President Christodoulides to discuss enhancing bilateral ties in key areas such as trade, investment, security, and technology.
Social Media Update
Upon his arrival, Modi shared his experience on social media, expressing gratitude to President Christodoulides for the warm welcome. He stated, 'I have landed in Cyprus. My sincere thanks to President Nikos Christodoulides for the special honor of welcoming me at the airport. This visit will significantly boost India-Cyprus relations, particularly in trade, investment, and other sectors.'
Upcoming G7 Summit
In the next phase of his tour, Modi will travel to Canada at the invitation of Prime Minister Mark Carney to attend the G7 summit. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, he will articulate India's stance on major global challenges, including energy security, technological cooperation, and innovation.
