Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to discuss the conflict between Israel and Iran and the potential global and regional implications of the escalating tensions.

Turkish, Russian diplomats address regional crisis

According to Foreign Ministry sources, Fidan spoke by phone with his Russian counterpart, Lavrov, in a diplomatic consultation regarding the deteriorating situation in the Middle East.

During the call, both ministers addressed the conflict between Israel and Iran and examined the possible global and regional repercussions of the mounting crisis.

Fidan characterized the developments as concerning and emphasized that diplomacy represents the only viable path to ending the hostilities and resolving disagreements to Iran’s nuclear activities.
