Air travel in India is widely regarded as safe and dependable yet certain historical plane accidents continue to evoke fear. The recent accident involving Air India Flight 171 startled many. Nevertheless this is not the initial incident many significant aviation disasters have occurred in India before this resulting in the loss of hundreds of innocent lives. Today we will tell you about an airplane crash in which a Bollywood superstar almost became a victim of this incident but he narrowly escaped and the ritual Karwa Chauth significantly contributed to his survival. Bollywood Superstar… Here we are talking about legendary actor Jeetendra who recently made headlines for selling land to an IT company through which he gained a humongous profit of Rs 855 crore. Meanwhile did you know that once Jeetendra shared about a tragic incident that could’ve taken his life? During an episode of The Kapil Sharma Show where he was accompanied by his daughter Ekta Kapoor the actor shared that in 1976 he escaped death because his wife Shobha Kapoor was observing Karwa Chauth fast for him and prevented him from leaving.  He arrived at the airport only to discover the flight was postponed. Jeetendra said “Maine phir Shobha ko phone kiya ghar par. Maine suna hai flight der se hai abhi 8.30-9 baje jaane wali hai. Chand nikal raha hai ya nahi dekh lo kissa khatam karte hain. (Maine Shobha ko phone kiya aur bataya ki meri flight lagbhag do ghante der se hai). I mentioned to her that I could return home in time for the moonrise so she could finish the Karwa Chauth ceremony.  When Jeetendra Learned About The Crash He returned to his home located at Pali Hill where the Mumbai airport was in view. “Is balcony se main ek aag ka gola aise aise udaan bharte hue dekh raha hoon.” It headed for the airport and (produces a crashing noise) he stated. He discussed the crash of Indian Airlines Flight 171 that took place in 1976.  The actor mentioned that in just a few hours his phone was flooded with calls from loved ones inquiring about his health. My ticket was there I am meant to go that flight has crashed. He mentioned that he lost one of his co-stars Rani Chandra in the accident that claimed 95 innocent lives.
