Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of highly-rated Argentine midfielder Franco Mastantuono from River Plate. The 16-year-old sensation has signed a six-year contract with Los Blancos, keeping him at the club until June 2031.
Paris Saint-Germain had shown strong interest and maintained contact with Mastantuono’s camp from the beginning. However, the French giants missed out as Real Madrid made a late but decisive move. The youngster ultimately chose to join the Spanish capital club, known for nurturing top South American talents like Vinícius Jr., Rodrygo, and Endrick.
The deal, now made official, includes a $45 million release clause which Real Madrid will pay in installments. Mastantuono is expected to initially join Real Madrid Castilla before being gradually integrated into the senior squad.
Real Madrid’s successful pursuit of Mastantuono further underlines their long-term vision of securing the brightest young talents in world football.
