Shaun Ryder took a swipe Jeremy Clarkson on Celebrity Gogglebox as he and Bez turned into telly critics for the evening.

The Happy Mondays frontman joined pal Bez on the star-studded episode, featuring TV favourites like Vicky Pattison and Pete Wicks, Jamie Laing and Munya Chawawa, Strictly Come Dancing's Ellie Simmonds and Richie Anderson, alongside Krishnan Guru-Murthy and his daughter Jasmine, opining on snippets from shows such as Heretic featuring Hugh Grant to an Elon Musk feature.

However, it was Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? host Jeremy that caught Shaun's attention, during a clip from Clarkson's Farm.

As Jeremy sought assistance with auction procedures from new farmhand Harriet, Shaun couldn't resist a dig, reports .

Jeremy remarked: "There's no need to panic because Harriet had kindly agreed to come along and hold my hand." Shaun then interjected: "I actually don't believe that Jeremy's not got a clue, really.

"He's a f**king know it all, isn't he?" Shaun added with a laugh.

Harriet had joined Clarkson's Farm this season to fill in while Kaleb Cooper was absent due to his book tour.

Addressing speculation over his presence on the show, Kaleb affirmed: "I'm still involved, yeah. There's lots of rumours going out that I've been replaced but I'm still here."

He also declared his appreciation for Harriet's stepping in, commenting: "And of course Harriet stepped in as I jumped away on tour, so I'm very grateful that Harriet came along and saved the day."

Fans were enchanted by the celebrity special of Gogglebox, with one viewer hailing it as "brilliant and funny".

The celeb stint received heaps of praises, notably for Rylan Clark and his mum Linda, as one fan gushed they "adored" them, and James Buckley's wife Clair was lauded by another who said: "I love how @Clair_Buckley comments are true, ironic and funny all in one go. Keep her on Gogglebox every week!"

Another viewer expressed affection for Bez and Shaun, simply saying: "Love Bez and Shaun."

Celebrity Gogglebox airs Fridays at 9pm on Channel 4.
