In view of the current situation in Iran, all Indian nationals & persons of Indian origin in Iran are requested to remain vigilant, avoid all unnecessary movements, follow the Embassy’s Social Media accounts & observe safety protocols as advised by local authorities.
This advisory follows a series of explosions reported in Tehran on Friday, shortly after Israel launched strikes targeting key sites in Iran.
Iranian media confirmed the activation of air defense systems, while Israeli officials said their forces struck multiple military and nuclear-related locations. Israel has also declared a state of emergency, anticipating possible retaliation.
Tensions have reached a critical point, with international observers expressing concern over potential escalation. Reports suggest Iran now possesses enough enriched uranium to produce several nuclear warheads, further fueling fears of a broader conflict.
The Indian government continues to monitor the situation closely. Citizens in Iran are strongly urged to follow official updates and prioritize personal safety at all times.
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations stated on Thursday that while Israel maintains regular communication with the United States, its recent military action against Iran was carried out as an independent decision.
The ambassador emphasized that although diplomatic discussions with the U.S. are ongoing, the decision to strike Iran was based solely on Israel’s own assessment and national security priorities. “We are in constant dialogue with our American allies, but the choice to act was Israel’s alone,” the envoy said.
