FC Copenhagen may have dropped a big hint regarding their gaffer’s future.
With RB Leipzig and VfL Wolfsburg on the hunt for a new head coach, their search may well have been narrowed by a recent press release.
Both clubs have been linked with Copenhagen’s Jacob Neestrup, but sharp-eyed journalist Philipp Hinze spotted reasons to doubt a potential move.
The club from the Danish capital published a statement this afternoon which appeared to hint at Neestrup remaining for the 2025-26 campaign:
“Jacob Neestrup will also be in charge as head coach for FC Copenhagen in the upcoming season. The inquiries that have been made to the head coach have been rejected.
“Sports director Sune Smith-Nielsen and head coach Jacob Neestrup are both looking forward to the first day of training with the team on June 22, 2025”.
Although nothing is certain, it could be a tactic employed by Copenhagen to increase the pressure and drive up Neestrup’s price.
