Story of setting up temple
There is an interesting story to the establishment of this temple. It is said that this Shiva temple was established by Rishi Agastya. After this, Rishi Agastya worshiped Lord Shiva, and Lord Shiva appeared and said that this place is like Kailash, so it is appropriate to build his temple here.
Growing size of Nandi statue
All the temples of Lord Shiva have a statue of Nandi, but the idol of Nandi installed in this temple is special and miraculous. Scientists say that the size of this idol increases by an inch every 20 years, due to which the poles of the temple have to be removed one by one. It is said that by the end of Kali Yuga, this statue will be alive in a huge form, and the Mahapalaya will come that day, after which the Kali Yuga will end.
Couvians
Shani Dev has no effect in this temple, and there are never crows here. It is said that this is due to the curse of the sage Agastya. According to the story, when the sage Agastya was doing penance, the crows were harassing him. Enraged, the sage cursed him that he would never be able to come here.
