After 'Kesari 2' stirred controversy for allegedly using a poem without credit, Akshay Kumar’s 'Housefull 5' has now found itself in the middle of a new plagiarism row. Choreographer Remo D’Souza has been accused of lifting a dance move from popular content creator Sandip Brahamin for the recently released track 'Laal Pari'.
Content creator accuses Remo D'Souza of lifting his dance moves
Taking to Instagram, Sandip posted a side-by-side comparison video to make his case, claiming a distinct step from his older clips had been replicated in the film. The step in question shows the cast—donning hats—shaking their heads in rhythm, which Sandip describes as his “signature” move.
In his post, Sandip said, “You all have seen my signature moves. My move has been copied in Housefull 5 song Laal Pari. Many of my friends DMed me on Instagram. Therefore, I rechecked on Instagram and YouTube. They’ve neither mentioned me nor have they given me credit. I don’t know what is happening.”
Interestingly, the video had been on Sandip’s feed for over a month but only began attracting attention recently. The creator has also called on his followers to rally behind him in raising awareness about the alleged copying.

The comments section reflected a divide. While several users backed Sandip and urged for proper attribution, others dismissed the complaint, suggesting that “steps toh of course anyone can do if they can do man.”
'Laal Pari', performed by Yo Yo Honey Singh and Simar Kaur, features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, and Soundarya Sharma.
About Housefull 5
'Housefull 5', which experimented with a dual-ending format titled Housefull 5A and Housefull 5B, had a strong box office opening of ₹24 crore and has reportedly collected ₹87.5 crore over its first weekend, as per estimates from Sacnilk.
This isn’t the first time the franchise has run into copyright concerns. Earlier, 'Kesari 2' came under scrutiny when spoken word poet Yahya Bootwala accused the film’s makers of using his poem on the Jallianwala Bagh massacre without credit. That issue, however, was resolved amicably between the parties involved.
As of now, there has been no official response from either Remo D’Souza or the production team behind Housefull 5 regarding Sandip’s allegations.
