Delhi: England started the T20 series led by the new captain Harry Brook against the West Indies with a win. In the match, Jose Butler batted tremendously and scored 96 runs in 59 balls. This was the best score of Butler at home ground so far. He initially scored runs fast and then vigilantly handled the innings.
England score in first innings
England scored 188 runs while batting first. The team had a great start and the score in the powerplay reached 78 runs. However, the wickets kept falling in the middle and Butler did not get much support from the other end. Jamie Smith and Jacob Bethel were the only two batsmen who could cross the double figure.
West Indies staggering start
The West Indies did not start well. Liam Dawson dismissed Johnson Charles in the first over. Matthew Poots, playing a debut match, sent Shai Hope to the pavilion on his second ball. Evin Lewis harassed England for a while and Jacob Bethel hit 24 runs in an over. But he was dismissed on the last ball of the same over, which shocked the expectations of the West Indies.

Dawson bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets for just 20 runs in 4 overs. He took big wickets like Roston Chase, Sherfen Rutherford and Rowman Powell. Rashid’s tight bowling
In the final 10 overs, West Indies needed 98 runs to win but Adil Rashid bowled economically and maintained pressure. Dawson benefited from this, who broke the back of the West Indies innings.
