The new store is slated to open in 2027 in Brabazon, a newly developed town in North Bristol. Waitrose is also planning to launch a new convenience store at The Arches in Bristol. Recently, it has opened franchised locations in partnership with Welcome Break in Spaldwick (Cambridgeshire) and Rotherham, along with a convenience store in Southwick, West Sussex.

Two additional Welcome Break stores are scheduled to open later this summer in Hickling, Leicestershire, and Newark, Nottinghamshire.
The 30,000-square-foot store, being developed in collaboration with YTL Developments, is expected to generate approximately 150 jobs.
It marks the retailer's first full-scale supermarket launch since before the Covid pandemic, despite having expanded through convenience outlets and smaller franchise locations in the meantime.
Waitrose managing director James Bailey said: "We are moving up a gear in store investment as we open in new locations and modernise our existing estate to bring the quality, service and value that customers love about Waitrose closer to more people.
"Brabazon is one of the most exciting new city districts in the UK, driving the growth of one of the UK's most vibrant and successful regional economies.
"Partnering with YTL Developments at Brabazon underlines our ambition and the opportunity we believe we have to grow our reach."
The store will be located in Brabazon, a newly developed neighbourhood in Bristol on the historic site of the former Filton Airfield-famed as the birthplace of every UK-built Concorde.
