RC Lens wish to extend the contract of 34-year-old attacker Florian Sotoca, according to a report from Market football. With just a year remaining on Sotoca’s current deal, both the player and the club are seeking an extension.
Discussions had already taken place prior to the end of the season, and both parties will resume talks after Sotoca’s summer holiday.
While Sotoca’s impact on the pitch was reduced during the 2024/25 season — scoring just one goal in 31 appearances — the Narbonne-born attacker is still considered important for his influence off the pitch.
Sotoca joined Lens from Grenoble Foot in July 2019. In six years at the club, he has made 220 appearances, scoring 40 goals and providing 30 assists. In his first season, Sotoca helped Lens return to Ligue 1. In the 2023/24 campaign, he was a key part of the Lens squad that competed in the UEFA Champions League. He last signed a new contract in January 2023.
