Stock markets end marginally lower in rangebound trade on Thursday. The Nifty slipped below the 24,793.25 mark, ending 18.80 points or 0.08 per cent lower, while the Sensex declined 82.79 points or 0.10 per cent to close at 81,361.87.

On the Nifty, top gainers included Tata Consumer, Eicher Motors, M&M, Wipro, and Apollo Hospitals. Meanwhile, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finance, IndusInd Bank, Coal India, and Adani Enterprises were among the major laggards.

The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices both dropped by 1.5 per cent

Across sectors, only the auto index ended in the green. All others closed in the red, with notable declines in IT, media, metals, realty, oil & gas, and PSU banks—falling between 0.5 per cent and 2 per cent.
