Multiple outlets in Italy are reporting that Marcus Thuram has come down with a minor injury issue following his side’s 1-1 draw against CF Monterrey in their opening game of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.
Thuram suffers minor injury with Inter at Club World Cup
According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio and various others, Thuram has suffered a muscular strain in his flexor muscles, which occurred in training after the 1-1 draw against CF Monterrey, which ended in the early hours of Wednesday morning (European time).
Thuram had already been struggling for fitness before kick-off against Monterrey, and was left out of the starting line-up by debutant head coach Cristian Chivu as a result.

Sebastiano Esposito, who spent the 2024-25 season on loan with Empoli, partnered Lautaro Martinez up front for Inter instead.
It remains to be seen whether Thuram will be fit and available in time to face Urawa Red Diamonds in Inter’s next match at the Club World Cup, scheduled to kick off 20.00 BST on Saturday evening.
His condition is set to be monitored on a day-by-day basis.
