More than 100 people of this village of India got trapped in Iran, went abroad to study medical

New Delhi . Many Indian citizens (Indian Citizen) are stranded in Iran amid increasing tension between Israel and Iran. More than 100 of these people are from Alipur village in Chikbalpur district of Karnataka. This village is mainly a village of Shia Muslims. These include students, family and working professionals, who went to Iran for education, business and religious activities. Embassy in Tehran and local government officials in Karnataka along with Indian officials are keeping a close watch on the situation and are cooperating in arrangements for safe return of people trapped in the area.

According to the latest voter list, Alipur is a population of about 25,000 people with 8,000 to 8,500 voters. There is also a population of Hindus, but about 90 percent of the residents are Muslims who are mainly from the Shia community. The village is known for its deep religious and cultural relations with Iran, which makes it a common destination for religion associated with religion and medical studies.

Maulana Syed Mohammad Usha Abedi, Imam of Masjid-e-Jafaria in Alipur, said, “Some of our students are currently studying in Iran.” Abedi said, ‘There are about 50 people in Kom and about 15 students are doing MBBS in Tehran. Other 25 to 30 people are involved in business in cities such as Kom and Mashhad. Overall, around 100 people of Alipur are currently in Iran, including families and children.

Recently, most of the residents of Alipur, living in various cities of Iran, have been taken to safe areas after Israeli’s air strikes. The Imam said, “The Indian Embassy is in touch and the embassy has helped many of them transfer from Tehran to Kom.”

Syed Abu Tahir, father of BDS student Habibibe Jahra in Iran, said, “He is in constant touch with the officials and we hope that everyone will return safely.” Tahir said, ‘My daughter has been studying BDS there since 2024 and is living in the hostel of girls. Everything is fine there, but we are scared given the current situation. We have already informed the local authorities and an official of Vikas Saudh (Karnataka State Secretariat) has also approached us. They are supporting us in this situation.

Originally a resident of Alipur, Saklen Abbas returned to India 20 days ago for his son’s admission to the college in Bengaluru. However, his wife and two children are in Iran. He said, ‘My wife is stuck in Iran. Many people from Karnataka are stranded there, including students. At the moment, the situation is normal. All shops are open and working. However, in view of the current situation, the situation is expected to deteriorate. The Indian Embassy is working to bring all Indians closer to borders and ensure their safe homecoming. ‘

Many families of the village are eagerly waiting for the return of their loved ones. Mir Nazar Abbas’s father Mir Zahid Raza confirmed that four members of his family were still in Iran, including a four -year -old and 13 -year -old child. He said, “They are safe, but we are worried.”
