New Delhi . The Indian Air Force is soon to make its fighter jets more deadly. The Air Force is planning to bring Advanced Swadeshi Smart Anti-Aerfield Weapon (SAAW) to its fighter jet fleet, including Sukhoi-30 MKI. This satellite-guided glide bomb is going to be discussed soon in the Ministry of Defense. According to defense sources, this weapon can hit the target in a 100 km range with a pinpoint accuracy. In this way, India’s growing strength in the defense sector is going to increase concern for Pakistan and China.

Saaw has been designed and developed by DRDO’s Hyderabad’s Research Center. It is a 120 kg weighing and high-purpose guided bomb, which is counted among the World-Class Weapon Systems. These weapons specialize in destroying enemy airfield assets like radar, bunker, taxi track and runway. This stand-off weapon is the same as used in Balakot air strike. DRDO has also offered it to defense forces under the Emergency Procurement to provide the army quickly to meet the future needs.
Fighter jets will be more powerful
The Indian Air Force is now focusing on the long-range stand-off Weapon Systems, which includes special types of missiles and bombs. After the success against Pakistani terrorist and military targets in Operation Sindoor, the demand for such weapons has increased further. In such a situation, SAAW is also one of the successful projects of DRDO, which will play a big role in strengthening the Indian Army. With this indigenous smart weapon, our fighter gel will become even more powerful.
