Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon found herself at the receiving end of severe backlash after she penned a note supporting Air India airlines, days after its aircraft was involved in the horrific Ahmedabad plane crash. Netizens called the actress out for being "tone-deaf" and for lacking empathy towards the hundreds of victims and their families. On June 16, Raveena took to her Instagram handle to share photos while travelling in an Air India flight. "New Beginnings … to rise and fly again against all odds … to pick up and start all over , new resolve towards greater strength. The atmosphere solemn and the crews welcoming smiles, tinted with sadness. The Silent passengers and crew bonding with unspoken condolences and subtle confidence. Condolences to the families that have lost their loved ones. A wound that will never heal (sic)," she wrote along with the photos. She went on to state, "Godspeed always @airindia . Fearless and a will To overcome and be strong again. ♥️ Jai Hind (sic)."Instead of garnering praise, her post resulted into an outrage on social media, with people slamming the actress and accusing her of being "insensitive". "Anything for money. Zero shame or empathy," a user wrote on Reddit, while another stated, "Putting up a air india promotion post just right after 4 days of such a horrific crash is just so tone deaf (sic).""So insensitive towards all the grieving loved ones who lost someone in that tragic accident. Bet it’s a paid post (sic)," another user wrote.Raveena is yet to issue a clarification after the backlash. On June 12, a London-bound Air India flight crashed in Ahmedabad moments after it took off from the airport. It crashed into the hostel of a medical college in Meghaninagar. While 271 out of the 272 people on board the flight, including the crew, were declared dead, at least 29 people, including MBBS students, died on ground.
