FASTag Annual Pass: The tension of repeatedly recharging the Fastag is now going to end, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has made a big announcement that an annual pass of Fastag will be issued, which will cost Rs 3 thousand. With this pass, you can make 200 journeys. At present, there are many questions in the minds of people about this. One of the questions is that how will this pass work after the satellite toll system is started? Let us answer every question.
How will the annual pass work?
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has said that from August 15, 2025, a FASTag based annual pass worth ₹ 3,000 is being started. This pass will be valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 trips, whichever is earlier. He has clarified that this pass is for private vehicles like car, jeep and van. For this, a link will be released soon on the websites of NHAI/MoRTH, from which people can get their pass.
Will it work with satellite toll system as well?
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has told many times that satellite based toll system is going to be implemented soon, in such a situation, people have a question in their mind that how will this annual pass of Fastag work after this happens. Actually, there will be no change in this, it will be counted from the satellite that how many times you have traveled, after which this number will keep getting added to your Fastag pass. As soon as your 200 trips are completed, you will have to renew it after this or you can also recharge it.
When is this system being implemented?
It has not been announced yet when the satellite based toll system is being implemented. However, it can be implemented across the country soon. This will reduce the crowd at toll plazas and people will find it easier to travel. Cameras will take information from your number plate and money will be deducted from your account or fast tag according to the distance you have traveled.
The decision to make toll passes has been taken because many people create long jams when they are not recharged, which causes trouble to others. In such a situation, if you have a pass, you can go out for a walk without any tension. The process of making passes is also going to start soon.
