
Industrialist Sunjay Kapur the former husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor passed away at the age of 53 after reportedly suffering a heart attack while playing polo in England. The tragic incident occurred on June 12 and left both the corporate and film industries mourning. Besides his vast business empire Sunjay was known for his deep love for polo. Moreover he was regarded as a well-known figure in UKs high-profile Polo matches. He frequently played in summer tournaments and was known to share a great camaraderie with Prince Willam and other British Royals. Also his regular appearances at Polo matches made him a popular face among royal circles. When Karisma Kapoor called out ex-husband Sunjay Kapurs obsession with Polo Well it was said that Sunjays commitment to Polo caused a rift in his marriage with Karisma Kapoor. Reportedly when Karisma filed her domestic violence petition against Sunjay she also revealed that how he always prioritised his Polo game over their kids and her. According to Karismas statement Sunjay abandoned their four-year old son Kiaan when he was unwell to attend a Polo match with Prince William. She alleged that he wanted to benefit from her celebratory status rather than forming a genuine relationship. Their divorce was finalised in 2016 following a long legal battle. Their separation caused massive media buzz due to serious allegations against Sunjay in both business and social circles. Sunjay Kapoor was married thrice. Her first marriage was to designer and socialite Nandita Mahtani followed by actress Karisma Kapoor in 2003. The ex-couple had two children- a daughter Samaira and a son Kiaan. In 2014 they filed for divorced and got officially separated in 2016. After their split Sunjay went on to marry Priya Sachdeva.
