Harshit was a part of the recent India A team and attended the unofficial Test against England Lions as well as an intra-school match in Bekenham. He got a chance to debut for India on Australia tour last year and has played 2 Tests, 5 ODIs and 1 T20 Internationals so far.

Currently, India has options like Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, famous Krishna, Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh among the fast bowlers, while Shardul Thakur and Nitish Reddy are present as all -rounders. In such a situation, Harshit Rana’s presence is being seen as a backup plan for the team.
