Ajay Devgn remains the undisputed king of Bollywood franchises, with Shaitaan officially becoming the latest addition to his long list of hit film franchises. With the huge box office success of Shaitaan in 2024, the terrifying supernatural thriller is now being turned into a full-fledged franchise. The sequel will be called Shaitaan 2 and is set to go on the floors as early as 2026 and is poised to explore further into the dark arena of black magic.

Shaitaan 2 Will Venture into New Territory
Whereas the original movie dealt with a family’s battle with demonic possession of the character Vanraj (played by R. Madhavan), Shaitaan 2 is said to take fans to Kokam, a Maharashtra region that has a reputation for its association with black magic. Contrary to previous gossip, the sequel will not be inspired by the future Gujarati horror movie Vash Level 2, but will have an original story worked out by Aamil Keeyan Khan, who wrote the initial movie. The screenplay has already reached almost completion stage with only minor adjustments remaining.

Director Vikas Bahl will be back for the sequel, diving into pre-production after completing his romantic comedy Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jaya Bachchan.
