Google has introduced its security charter for India, describing how it is using artificial intelligence (AI) to deal with an increase in cyber crime across the country. This announcement has been made at a time when India’s digital economy continues to expand, causing increasing concerns about user security and online fraud.

In a blog post, the US-based technology firm revealed that it is integrating the AI ​​tool in its services to detect, prevent and remove security threats in both consumer and enterprise products. The move also includes extensive cooperation along with government initiatives to increase cyber awareness and security.

Citing a recent report, Google said that fraud to Unified Payments Interface (UPI) caused a loss of more than ₹ 1,087 crore in 2024. The total financial loss in India in India is estimated to reach ₹ 20,000 crore in 2025.

The company warned that cyber criminals are rapidly using advanced AI tools to scam, including deepfack, voice cloning and fabricated digital materials. In response, Google said that it is integrating its internal security structure with the government’s Dijikavach program and partnered with the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center (I4C) to launch a public awareness campaign in a phased manner. As part of its enforcement measures, Google claims to remove 247 million advertisements for policy violations and suspend 2.9 million accounts. These efforts include compliance with local and national regulations.
