UIDAI has once again given a big relief to crores of Aadhar card holders in the country. The last date for uploading documents to an Aadhar card has now been extended by one year. Earlier the last date for a free Aadhar update with the document was 14 June 2025 but now it has been extended to 14 June 2026. UIDAI has given this information by posting on social media platform X.

For whom is an Aadhar update with the document necessary?

The government has said that those who have an Aadhar card of 10 years or older will have to update their Aadhar with identity and address proof, that is, if you have a 10-year-old Aadhar card and Aadhar has not been updated even once in this period, then you have to get it updated, otherwise, your Aadhar card may also be canceled.

These documents will be needed for the Aadhar update.

For the Aadhar update, you will need two important documents. First identity card and second address proof. Usually, a fee of Rs 50 is charged at the Aadhaar center for an Aadhaar update, but according to UIDAI, this service is free till June 14, 2026. You can give a PAN card as identity proof and voter card for address.

How to update Aadhaar yourself
