Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a stunning development following the tragic death of actor Matthew Perry, his psychiatrist, Dr. Howard Michael Kornfeld, has agreed to plead guilty to illegally supplying him with ketamine. The case is marked by a profound breach of medical ethics, highlighted by text messages in which the doctor referred to his famous patient as a “moron.”

Dr. Kornfeld is not being charged directly with causing Perry’s death. Instead, he will plead guilty to a federal charge of “conspiracy to cause an unapproved drug to be introduced into interstate commerce.” In simple terms, he admits to arranging for ketamine—a controlled substance—to be delivered to Perry outside of a legitimate medical setting or prescription. Perry died in October 2023 from the “acute effects of ketamine.”

According to court documents, Kornfeld, who was on probation with the Medical Board of California at the time, enlisted Perry’s assistant, Jasmin Rished, to help facilitate the deliveries. He allegedly had another individual, Marcos Boulos, deliver the ketamine to Rished, who would then give it to Perry.

The case took a disturbing turn with the revelation of text messages from Kornfeld, where he expressed frustration with Perry and called him derogatory names. This display of unprofessionalism adds a layer of personal betrayal to the legal proceedings.

Under the terms of his plea agreement, Dr. Kornfeld is expected to face sentencing that could include probation, home detention, and a significant fine, though he avoids a more severe charge. The plea marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation to hold accountable those who contributed to the circumstances surrounding the beloved Friends star’s death.
