Rules Change: There have been major changes in the CGHS scheme. Now pensioners will be able to avail of treatment facilities from mobile apps and portal sitting at home. The process has become faster and transparent with facilities like PAN based unique ID, digital payment, online approval of medical equipment and SMS-email alerts.

Rules Change: The central government has made many major changes in the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) for its employees and pensioners. Now important steps have been taken towards making this scheme completely digital and transparent. Recently, the Ministry of Health has launched the new HMIS portal and mobile app, through which pensioners and employees can avail appointment booking, e-card download and medical services from home. New HMIS portal and mobile app launched

Now a new HMIS (Health Management Information System) portal cghs.mohfw.gov.in – and mobile app has been released under CGHS.

Pensioners and employees can understand in easy language through the four points given below.

Unique CGHS ID will be linked to PAN Card

Now CGHS card will be linked to PAN number and every beneficiary will be given a unique ID. This will keep the records in one place, the possibility of fraud will decrease. Earlier one had to show old documents again and again, now the record of the entire family will be visible in one click.

Digital payment system

The old Bharatkosh portal has been closed. Now CGHS fee will be deposited from HMIS portal itself and verification will also be done immediately.

Now there is no hassle of going to the office with the payment receipt

Rules Change: Online approval of medical devices

Now the facility of online application and approval has started for essential medical devices like oxygen concentrator, CPAP, BiPAP. Earlier it used to take 20 days.

Now approval can be obtained in 5 days sitting at home.

Every update will be available through SMS and email

Now information about every application, payment and approval is received immediately through SMS and email.

Along with this, it is also being advised to change the password from time to time so that the data remains safe.
