
By Jitendra Jangid- Friends, people are facing the brunt of severe heat in many states of North India, where the temperature has crossed 45 degrees, in such a situation, rain is the only option left to get relief, recently many areas of North India witnessed rain with winds, thunderstorms, heavy rains and dust storms in Delhi and surrounding areas, which brought great relief from the scorching heat and brought a significant drop in temperature. Despite the sudden change in weather, the southwest monsoon has not officially reached North India. Let's know when the monsoon will arrive
Delhi and North India: Pre-monsoon rains brought relief
Heavy rains and thunderstorms have hit Delhi for two days, bringing down the temperature after a long heat wave. Dust storms and strong winds also accompanied the rain, which improved the air quality and brought relief for some time.
Pre-monsoon activity is intensifying, and Delhi may witness cloudy skies, light to moderate rain and thundershowers till June 19.
With these active weather systems, the monsoon may reach Delhi before its usual arrival, bringing widespread rain and respite from the heat.
Mumbai: Incessant rain and flood concerns
Mumbai is receiving incessant rains. Several areas are inundated due to the previous rains.
A wall collapse was reported in Vasai due to incessant rains.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for more rain in the coming days
Monsoon progress across India
The southwest monsoon continues to advance into other parts of the country
Favourable conditions indicate its further advance into:
Gujarat, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha.
Parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and East Uttar Pradesh in the next 2-3 days.
Heavy rain expected in:
Gujarat, Konkan-Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and gusty winds likely in:
Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Other areas with likely rainfall include:
Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Andaman-Nicobar and Northeast India.
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh and Western Himalayan region.
