Udinese have agreed the sale of Jaka Bijol to Leeds United for €22m including add-ons and secured his replacement, Italy Under-21 international Nicolò Bertola.
Multiple sources confirmed that despite a late attempt by Newcastle United, the deal was done between Udinese and newly-promoted Premier League side Leeds United.
Bijol had already agreed personal terms too and is expected to fly out over the next 24-48 hours for a medical and to sign the contract.
It is a move worth circa €22m including add-ons, making a big profit on the Slovenia international, who was signed from CSKA Moscow for €4m in 2022.
Udinese doing great business
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, Udinese have already found his replacement and it is another investment likely to gain value.
They have secured Bertola from Serie B side Spezia as a free agent, because his current contract will expire on June 30.
Personal terms have been agreed with the player, who is currently representing Italy at the Under-21 European Championship.
