
Overview of the Women's Cricket World Cup 2025
The International Cricket Council has officially released the complete schedule for the Women's Cricket World Cup 2025. A total of eight teams will compete in this tournament, which will follow a round-robin format. This means that each of the eight teams will face one another at least once during the group stage. India and Sri Lanka will co-host this year's World Cup, with the opening match taking place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, featuring India against Sri Lanka.
The tournament is set to run from September 30 to November 2. Australia, the reigning champions, will kick off their campaign on October 1 against New Zealand. Notably, the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for October 5 at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

It is noteworthy that Australia has won the Women's ODI World Cup seven times, while England has claimed the title four times and New Zealand once. The Indian team has yet to win the Women's ODI World Cup but has finished as runners-up on two occasions.
