Academy Award-winning actor Al Pacino and producer Manasvi Mamgai of 32RED Entertainment recently met with the newly appointed His Holiness, Pope Leo XIV, in Vatican City, marking a historic and profoundly significant start to the production of their new film, Captivated.
This extraordinary meeting was important for several reasons. Al Pacino became the first movie star to be officially welcomed by Pope Leo XIV, and it was the first occasion Pacino himself had ever met with a Pope. For Manasvi Mamgai, the meeting signifies a rare privilege, placing her among the very few Hollywood producers of Indian descent to receive such an audience.
Reflecting on the encounter, Mamgai expressed, "Meeting His Holiness, the Pope, was genuinely a once-in-a-lifetime experience. As a producer of Indian origin, standing alongside Al Pacino in such an extraordinary moment felt surreal and profoundly significant. There is no better way to commence a movie than to receive blessings from His Holiness himself."
