Because of this, there are volcanic activities here. Aarta Elle Volcano is the main attraction here. Its lava lake is its kind unique in the world. Here sulfur lakes are green, made of sulfuric acid. The soil here is red in color, which makes it like Mars. This place is heaven for photographers. The difficult conditions here make it dangerous.

The temperature here goes above 50 degrees Celsius a day. It does not fall below 40 degrees even at night. It is the hottest place in the world. Rainfall is barely in the year. Lack of water here is a big problem. The local Afar community lives here and mines salt. The circumstances here are so difficult that tourists who come here have to take care. Water, safe clothes and strong shoes are essential. The unique beauty here makes it worth seeing.
