The 48-year-old is now said to be receiving "the best care possible" after he was found unresponsive on Saturday morning (June 14). According to a source via , Elijah is still in the hospital in , with his current condition unknown.

An insider told the publication that he is "very lucky to have survived," and Cher is focused on "doing everything she can to get him the help he needs". Elijah's troubles with substance abuse were made public to control access to his money in 2023. At the time, the pop icon claimed her son was "substantially unable to manage his own financial resources due to severe mental health and substance abuse issues".

During their dispute, the mother and son duo agreed to settle the matter away from court and solved the issue privately a few months after the claims were first made and took part in a private meditation session, according to .

At the session, they reportedly agreed to "pause all legal proceedings and related activities, including all discovery and motion practice, to allow the Parties to continue working together to privately and confidentially resolve this matter," according to court documents obtained by the outlet.

This came after a report alleged she had hired four men to remove him from a New York hotel room in 2022. However, Cher has denied this.

Elijah's father is the late Allman Brothers' band member, Gregg Allman who is believed to have suffered from substance abuse issues, which doctors say may have led to his death from liver cancer in 2012.

The 48-year-old followed in his parents' footsteps and became a musician. He goes by his stage name, P. Exeter Blue.

Elijah was the lead guitarist of the rock band Deadsy for 28 years before reportedly stepping away from the group in recent years.

According to court documents obtained by Page Six, Elijah is also going through marital issues and is currently going through a divorce from his estranged wife, Marieangela King.

He is one of six siblings, with two half-brothers on his father's side, Devon and Michael Sean Allman, and two half-sisters, Layla Brooklyn and Delilah Island Allman.

On his mother's side, Elijah has one half-brother, 54-year-old Chaz Bono, who was born Chastity Bono, to Cher and her late husband and collaborator Sonny Bono.
