Shahid Kapoor born on February 25 1981 is a powerhouse of talent charisma and unmatched energy. Starting as a background dancer in superhits like Dil Toh Pagal Hai (1997) and Taal (1999) to becoming one of the biggest stars his journey is nothing short of inspiring. Despite being the son of the acclaimed actor Pankaj Kapur his journey to stardom was anything but privileged. His parents got separated when he was just 3-years old and was raised by his mother Neliima Azeem who started working at the age of 15. Shahid used to live in rented houses gave 250 auditions before making it big in Bollywood. My father is a character actor and my mom was a Kathak dancer since she was 15 years old. I have lived in rented houses. I have given many auditions so I don’t have that sense of privilege Shahid told Raj Shamani. I came after giving 250 auditions he said. Reflecting on his past struggles the Kabir Singh star recalled a time when he didnt have enough money to afford clothes. Today people say that Shahid’s fashion sense is so good. I laugh at things like this because I remember when I couldn’t afford clothes Shahid said. In 2003 Shahid Kapoors breakthrough came with Ishq Vishk which not only made him an overnight sensation but also won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Following that that there was no looking back for him! In a career spanning over two decades Shahid gave many superhits such as Vivah Jab We Met Kaminey Udta Punjab Kabir Singh and others. He is now a superstar of Indian cinema who has carved out a special place in audiences hearts with his impeccable dancing skills and terrific acting chops. According to reports the actor charges Rs 40 crore for a film and is estimated net worth stands around Rs 300 crore. Meanwhile on the work front Shahid has couple of projects in his pipeline. He is gearing up for Vishal Bhardwajs highly-awaited period drama Arjun Ustara. Furthermore he will also star in Cocktail 2 alongside Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna.
