New Delhi: Indian Test team captain Shubman Gill says that he is not under any pressure from head coach Gautam Gambhir or chief selector Ajit Agarkar regarding his first tour as captain. Gill was appointed captain of the red ball format in place of Rohit Sharma. Rohit had said goodbye to the Test format before the England tour. Gill will take over the captaincy of the Indian team from the five-match Test series against England starting on June 20. The Indian Test captain said that he has expectations from himself but there is no pressure on him from the head coach or Agarkar. I don’t think that there are any expectations or pressure from them but you definitely have some kind of expectations from yourself as a leader and a player. So those are the expectations that I have from myself but not from them he added. What is Shubman Gills goal as Test captain? Gill said that apart from winning titles with the Indian team he wants to create a culture where the players feel very safe and happy. He said Apart from all the trophies I would ideally like to create a culture where everyone is very safe and happy. I know it can be a very difficult environment especially with all the competitions or the number of matches we play and the different teams that come but if I am able to do that that will be my goal.
