Video footage shared online shows a female Chinese tourist lying on the floor at Milan Malpensa Airport in Italy.
A Chinese tourist has gone viral on social media after a video captured her throwing a tantrum at Milan Malpensa Airport in Italy upon being told her luggage was too heavy to carry onboard.
The incident took place on June 8 at the boarding gate, where airline staff informed her that her suitcase exceeded the weight limit and asked her to either pay an excess baggage fee or remove some items, according to New York Post.
In response, the woman screamed and lay down on the floor, kicking and stomping her feet in frustration.
The viral clip shows her visibly distressed, flailing her legs as airport staff attempted to calm her down.
Despite efforts to de-escalate the situation, the woman remained inconsolable and was eventually removed from the flight.
She reportedly booked a new ticket after regaining her composure, Australian outlet news.com.au reported.
The footage has sparked mixed reactions online.
Some users described the outburst as “childish,” while others questioned the effectiveness of her actions.
“This Chinese mother had the mother of all tantrums at Milan Airport,” one netizen wrote.
“How is that going to help?” another questioned.
