AJ Auxerre’s strong record of producing young talent may soon see another graduate move abroad. 17-year-old centre-back Marvyn Muzungu has drawn the attention of Dutch giants Ajax after an eye-catching Youth League campaign with the Ligue 1 side.
Standing at 1.92m, Muzungu has already been included in two Auxerre first-team squads this past season — against Nice and Lyon — though he is yet to make his senior debut. He is widely regarded as one of the standout prospects in AJA’s academy, especially in the centre-back position.
According to Market footballthe teenager has recently trialled with Ajax, who are understood to be interested in integrating him into Jong Ajax — the club’s reserve team — before a potential progression to the first team. Muzungu featured in four UEFA Youth League matches this season, contributing to his growing profile among European scouts.
