Safety Advisory for Indian Nationals in Israel

New Delhi, June 14: As regional tensions escalate, the Indian Embassy in Israel has released a new safety advisory for Indian citizens living in the area due to the intensifying conflict between Iran and Israel.

In a message shared on the social media platform X, the embassy's official account @indemtel stated: "Given the current situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Israel are urged to remain alert and adhere to the safety guidelines provided by Israeli authorities and the Home Front Command."

The advisory also recommended that Indian citizens exercise caution, refrain from unnecessary travel within Israel, and stay near designated safety shelters.

"We are actively monitoring the situation and the safety of Indian nationals. In case of emergencies, please reach out to the Embassy’s 24/7 helpline: +972 54-7520711, +972 54-3278392, or via email at [email protected]," the advisory added.

On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu updated Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the "evolving situation" following the initiation of a military operation by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) against Iran.

PM Modi shared on X, "I received a call from PM Netanyahu, who briefed me on the current developments. I expressed India's concerns and highlighted the importance of restoring peace and stability in the region promptly."

Netanyahu's office indicated that he had discussions with various world leaders, including PM Modi, after the commencement of 'Operation Rising Lion' aimed at neutralizing the "Iranian threat of annihilation."

According to a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's office, "Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has engaged with global leaders, including the German Chancellor, the Indian Prime Minister, and the French President. He is also scheduled to speak with US President Trump, Russian President Putin, and the British Prime Minister."

"The leaders expressed their understanding of Israel's defense requirements in light of the Iranian threat; Netanyahu assured that he would maintain communication with them in the upcoming days," the statement continued.

Earlier on Friday, Netanyahu officially declared the launch of 'Operation Rising Lion', a focused military initiative aimed at dismantling Iran’s nuclear threat to Israel's security.

On Saturday morning, tensions escalated further as nearly 100 missiles were reportedly launched from Iran targeting central and northern Israel in two significant waves. The Israeli military and the national emergency service, Magen David Adom (MDA), reported considerable damage and injuries to at least 41 individuals.

The MDA noted that two people were critically injured, two sustained moderate injuries, and four experienced light to moderate injuries. The rest suffered minor injuries or trauma-related symptoms, including panic attacks.

Iranian state television later confirmed that the missile strikes were part of a renewed offensive amid rising hostilities between the two nations.

The IDF acknowledged the missile strikes, stating that “another barrage has been fired towards Israel,” although details regarding the number of missiles and specific target areas were not immediately available.
