
South Africa made history by winning their first-ever ICC trophy at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground, defeating Australia by 5 wickets in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023–25 Final. Led by Temba Bavuma, the Proteas ended a 27-year wait to claim a major global title.
For their remarkable triumph, South Africa received ₹30.78 crore in prize money from the ICC. Australia, the runner-up, were awarded ₹18.4 crore.
Despite missing out on the final, India, who finished third, secured ₹12.31 crore, while Pakistan, who ended ninth on the table, still received approximately ₹4 crore.
New Zealand (4th): ₹10 crore
5th place: ₹8.2 crore
Sri Lanka (6th): ₹7.18 crore
Bangladesh (7th): ₹6.15 crore
West Indies (8th): ₹5.13 crore
This increased prize pool reflects the ICC’s commitment to promoting Test cricket worldwide.
