Teenage guest Jess Daley ended up tearfully admitting "I hate it" when her bedroom was transformed on the . The designers, who had been under the watchful eye of interior designer Celia Sawyer, decided to opt for a cartoon-themed style. The teen's room was painted bright white, with black crayon outlines pencilled on the windows, walls and wardrobes, giving it a sort of pop art effect.

Despite the designers showing off their best artist's skills, the family were left gutted. Jess' hands clasped to her mouth in shock as the look was unveiled. She cried: "No, I hate it. I think it's just more childish than I wanted it to be, a lot more childish than I want it to be. In all fairness."
Celia tried to lighten the situation as she pointed out how "unique" the room was. She encouragingly said: "Nobody, none of your friends are gonna have a room like this. None of them."
But Jess' dad pointed out that the abstract look was nothing special and how different it was is probably why his daughter was not a fan.

Viewers at home agreed with the family, with the room coming under heavy criticism. One wrote: "The cartoon sketches on the walls didn't even appear to be properly painted nor did it have like a style. It just looked like a random bloke was given some paint and a brush"
"That girl's bedroom looks like something that you find in a house where he keeps his victims. Absolutely horrendous," another added, while a third said: "Come on, that girl's room was terrible. Looked like my 8-year-old wrote on the wall."
Someone else said: "What theme did they choose? Horror? The bedroom looks like a poorly equipped Spooky House-Escape Room. The girl's room looked like something a psychotic little ghost girl would inhabit and paint in, before she lures you somewhere else and murder you. And who could sleep with that creepy lamphead-mannequin at the end of the bed facelessly staring at you."
