Prominent businessman and polo enthusiast Sunjay Kapur, former husband of Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor, tragically passed away at the age of 53 in London on Thursday. Kapur reportedly suffered a heart attack during a polo match, with media reports suggesting the incident might have been caused by a bee sting he accidentally ingested, leading to fatal suffocation.

Sunjay’s unexpected demise has sent shockwaves across business and entertainment circles, with many remembering him as a charismatic figure with an intense passion for both motorsports and polo.

Repatriation delayed due to US citizenship

According to a report, the process of bringing his mortal remains to India is currently underway but could be delayed due to his U.S. citizenship. His father-in-law Ashok Sachdev confirmed to NDTV, “The postmortem is currently underway. Once the paperwork is complete, the body will be brought to India for the last rites.”

The final rites are expected to take place in Delhi, once the procedural formalities are concluded.
