
New Delhi: On the basis of Aiden Markrams century and Temba Bavumas half-century South Africa has scored 213 runs for the loss of two wickets on the third day against Australia. Defending champion Australia has given South Africa a target of 282 runs. Currently Markram is at the crease with 102 runs and Bavuma with 65 runs. Now the team needs only 69 runs to win. South Africa got a target of 282 runs: On the third day Australia started the second innings with a score of 145/8. At that time their total lead was 219 runs. On the basis of Mitchell Starcs unbeaten half-century and Alex Careys 43 runs Australia scored 207 runs for the loss of 10 wickets and gained a lead of 281 runs against South Africa and gave them a target of 282 runs. Unbeaten partnership of 143 runs between Markram and Bavuma: In reply South Africa started with a jolt. Ryan Rickelton could score only six runs. He was made his victim by Mitchell Starc. On the basis of the first innings Australia had a lead of 69 runs in the second innings. After the second innings Australias total lead was 281 runs. Mitchell Starc remained unbeaten after scoring 58 runs with the help of five fours in 136 balls. Starc batted brilliantly and first scored 61 runs for the eighth wicket with Alex Carey then 14 runs for the ninth wicket with Lyon and then shared a 59-run partnership in 135 balls for the last wicket with Hazelwood. Hazelwood was dismissed after scoring 17 runs. In the second innings for Australia Marnus Labuschagne scored 22 Steve Smith scored 13 Usman Khawaja scored 6 Travis Head scored 9 Beau Webster scored 9 and captain Pat Cummins scored 6 runs. Cameron Green could not open the account. Apart from this Alex Carey scored 43 runs with the help of five fours in 50 balls. At the same time Nathan Lyon could score only two runs. For South Africa Kagiso Rabada took four wickets while Lungi Ngidi got three wickets. Marco Jansen Wiaan Mulder and Aiden Markram took one wicket each.
