South Korean star Kim Soo Hyun has found himself in the eye of a storm following allegations of an underage relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. The actor, who is now facing a string of lawsuits, has taken a strong legal stance. According to reports, his legal team has formally involved the National Forensic Service (NFS) in the ongoing case to verify the legitimacy of the claims and evidence submitted against him.

The controversy began when digital content creators and Kim Sae Ron’s family shared screenshots, photos, and audio clips suggesting that Kim Soo Hyun was romantically involved with her when she was still a minor. While the actor admitted to dating Kim Sae Ron during a press conference, he denied that their relationship began when she was underage.

Forensic Investigation Demanded

As per ChosunBiz, Kim’s legal representatives from LKB & Partners have filed a formal request with the NFS for a digital forensic investigation. This request covers a wide scope: chat logs, call records, video clips, and images submitted by the HoverLab YouTube channel. The actor’s team wants all materials digitally examined to check their authenticity.

In addition to the public and media scrutiny, Kim Soo Hyun’s professional life has also taken a major hit. A couple of brand deals have been terminated. One of them is CLASSYS, a medical beauty company that had roped him in to endorse their brand, Volnewmer. Following the scandal, CLASSYS filed a lawsuit accusing him of reputation damage and successfully obtained a court order to seize his high-end Galleria Foret apartment, reportedly worth ₩3 billion KRW.

Reports state that Classys initiated legal proceedings on May 8, following which the Seoul Eastern District Court granted the seizure order on May 20.

Kim Soo Hyun has a huge fan following in South Korea and across the world. During this controversy, some of his fans have even started a petition to protect him from online hate and cyberbullying.
